A Walk Through Jeff and Wendy’s Garden
A generous, working garden built for neighbors, food, and beauty in equal measure.
Summer 2026
This week, club members visited the wonderful garden of Jeff and Wendy Leyonmark, a property that offers something to admire at every turn.
The front yard is lush and welcoming, planted not just for its own sake but as a gift to the neighborhood. Jeff and Wendy see it as their way of saying thank you to the people who pass by it every day, and that generosity of spirit sets the tone for the rest of the property.
The backyard is where the garden truly opens up. Members explored a fruit orchard, a fish pond, a chicken coop, a greenhouse, a barn, and a series of raised vegetable beds, each space purposeful and well tended. The vegetable garden in particular does double duty, planted to put food on the table but also arranged with an eye for visual impact. Jeff has a knack for seeking out unusual plants, and he displays each one in a way that lets its particular beauty stand out.
Jeff and Wendy moved into their home in 2002, but much of the garden’s finer detail work, the kind that takes patience and a practiced eye, has come together in just the last five years. That care and dedication were evident everywhere members looked.
Thank you, Jeff and Wendy, for sharing your beautiful garden with us. It was a visit the club will not forget.
